Letter Arthur Fox Ogden to Nettie.........
LETTER FROM ARTHUR: Bartenville, Ky
Nov. 2, 1930
Dear Nettie and family, We received your sad sad letter. It was too late for any of us to come if we could when we got your letter. While we loved your papa fervently I would like to have been at the funeral. We know our loss is His eternal gain. He is basking in the sunlight of God's love with Stella, and his father and mother, Annie and Lizzie, Frank and your grandma.Dearest brother, thou hast left me
But the loss we deeply feel
But tis God that hast bereft us
He can all our sorrows heal.
Yet again we hope to meet you
When our days on earth are fled
Then in heaven with joy shall greet you
Where no fare well tear is shed. In memory of your papa.
We are well as usual - only feeble. Hope this will find you all well. Howard and family visited us yesterday (several blurred words on crease) He hasn't gotten over the rabit (sic) poison yet entirely. Nettie write again and let us know how you are getting along. We are dry as a bone over here. No water No grass No feed. We are looking for hard times before spring.Much love to all
Uncle Arthur
